Rocky Mountain High

After our short visit to New Mexico, we were on the road again...this time to Colorado!  We were so excited to visit our wonderful friends, Kara and Ben, for eight days!

One of our first views of the mountains.  The picture doesn't do this beautiful sunset justice....so beautiful!
Since it was our first visit to Colorado, Ben and Kara surprised us with a day trip up to the mountains.  And, of course a trip to the mountains wouldn't be complete without an elk sighting!
Our first adventure was cross-country skiing.  You'd think that growing up in northwestern Minnesota and Quebec would've been great training for cross country skiing, but nope...this was both mine and Guillaume's first time on cross-country skis.  It was quite the adventure!  So much fun...but I don't think we're naturals!

Such beautiful country!

Our next stop was the Hot Sulphur Springs Resort.  We spent a few hours relaxing in the natural hot springs...so much fun!!  It actually didn't smell too bad, either, and it's supposedly really good for your skin.   Thanks for the fun day,
Ben and Kara!!!

Pour notre famille au Québec!  C'est une ville du Colorado!  héhé!

Day 2 of our fun weekend together was spent at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.  I had no idea that many bases have equestrian centres for military members to board their horses!  Made me feel a bit like I was back home in Minnesota...  :)
One of my high school friend's, Kelsey, came down from Denver to spend the day with us.  Thanks for making the trek down, Kels...it was so fun to catch up!!

Thanks again, Ben and Kara, for hosting us!!  We had such a wonderful time with you both!!!   Glad that Colorado was a part of our trip!
