We arrived in Nashville on October 31st. Although only in town for a day, we made sure to hit up a few of the must-see places!

If you haven't been able to tell yet from the random food pictures I've included in this blog, I'm quite obsessed with food (watching cooking shows - ie: Julia Child, cooking and baking - ie: roasting pumpkin seeds, eating - ie: thumbs up at Ben's Chili Bowl, and even wearing it - ie: alphabet soup for Halloween)! This obsession with food would explain our first stop in Nashville...The Loveless Cafe. If you're ever in the Nashville area, this would be my number one recommendation! The food is good ol' down home southern cookin' (a phrase I taught Guillaume...of course, with a southern accent). :) I had BBQ pulled pork on top of corn cakes with mashed potatoes, gravy, and fried okra. Guillaume had their famous fried chicken (the same recipe they've used since the beginning - 1951) with fries and grits. They also serve an endless supply of homemade, fresh out of the oven biscuits with homemade jam. YUM!!!!

After our delicious meal at The Loveless Cafe, we stopped at The Bluebird Cafe; we arrived just in time to listen to 37 songwriters sing one of their original tunes for songwriter's night. The Bluebird Cafe is a place where many famous singers and songwriters have gotten their big break (ie: Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Trisha Yearwood, Taylor Swift, Brooks & Dunn, Melissa Etheridge and many more)! Another great place to visit in Nashville!

At night, Nashville's famous Broadway Street is lit up with signs like this one. One of the things the city is so well known for is it's endless amount of excellent entertainment. Broadway is lined with bars that feature live music every day and night.

| It truly is "Music City"! |
 |
| And, since we were so close to Memphis, Elvis memorabilia could be found everywhere! |
 |
| Our last stop in Nashville was the famous Ryman Auditorium, home to the Grand Ole Opry! The GOO is the world's longest running live radio program. Another must-see place in Nashville! |
Nashville proved to be a worthy destination along our route....glad we stopped!
