After our four day visit in the D.C. area, Guillaume and I headed west. Over the span of a few days, Guillaume and I visited Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky. Probably some of the most scenic driving we've had up to this point. The next few pictures are just some random snapshots I took along our route.

| We left D.C. just in time to miss the huge, record-breaking snowstorm that hit on Halloween. Although we had to drive through some snowy weather right away, it eventually cleared. It sure was beautiful though...pictures just don't do the landscape justice! |
 |
| We saw many cows and farms in Virginia and West Virginia. Reminded me of home... :) |
 |
| We came across this farm as we were "off-roading" (aka getting off the highway for gas and taking some little country roads for a few miles). |
 |
We were lucky to see a few of the fall colours left on the trees.

The afternoon we spent in Lexington, Kentucky was a beautiful one...such a warm fall day! Lexington is a beautiful city with lots of southern charm and old history. Above: Mary Todd Lincoln's family home. One of the first (if not the first) family homes of a First Lady to be restored and opened as a small museum.

| Two beautiful trees in Berea, Kentucky. The colours were so vibrant!!! |

Enjoying a famous Kentucky soft drink - an "Ale 8 1" aka "A Late One" - courtesy of my friend, Audrey's , parents in Berea. Thank you, John and Sarah - you were wonderful hosts that made us feel right at home!
Looking forward to going back to that area again some day!! |
