After our great trip to NYC, Guillaume and I travelled south to visit friends in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. We had an excellent time!

Our one night stop in Philly was so much fun!! We met up with one of my dear friends from UND, Silvanio, who I hadn't seen in six years!! After a lovely supper together, he treated us to an hour and a half of piano playing...it brought me back to my days at UND! Silvanio is an extremely talented pianist - you name a song, and he'll play it by ear. AMAZING!

The next night, we arrived at my friend Sarah's house just in time to carve pumpkins! Guillaume's is on the left, mine is on the right.

A trip to D. C. isn't complete without a visit to one of the Smithsonian Museums. Although I've already been to this display a few times, I had to go back. No, I'm not quite as obsessed as Julie Powell from "Julie and Julia" (I didn't leave a pound of butter), but I was pretty excited to be there...I think I spent 45 minutes to an hour at the display!

A trip to D.C. is also not complete without a stop at Ben's Chili Bowl! The establishment has been around for more than 50 years. It's a great restaurant with a really neat history; if you're ever in the area, I highly recommend it! But, unless you're Barack and Michelle Obama, or Bill Cosby, you'll have to pay for your meal. Definitely worth it...so delicious and really cheap!

Our second supper of that evening was at The Matchbox with another great friend from UND, Tera!! One of the greatest things about our North American road trip is that we've been able to meet up with so many of my friends from school. Glad Tera was able to slip away from work long enough to meet up with us!

We had a great time visiting my friend, Sarah. Since we were there when her work had a Halloween party, we dressed up and tagged along! Can you tell our costumes are definitely last minute? I'm "alphabet soup" and Guillaume is a "cereal killer". If you can't tell by Sarah's braids, she was Pippi Longstocking!

| Roasting the pumpkin seeds from our pumpkins. Thanks again to our wonderful hostess, Sarah! So glad we got to stay for a few days! |
