And so it begins...!

Bonjour tout le monde!

Since my last post in July, we've been super busy!

I traveled home to Minnesota in August for 3.5 weeks.  Had a great time catching up with many friends and family!  Guillaume was up north in Nunavut for seven weeks. (Pictures to come soon.)  Picture: my mom, dad, sister and I on a little family vacay in Winnipeg.
Can you tell how much I love cheese?!  Cheese stand at The Forks in Winnipeg.  (Stacy - this one's for you!  Not sure if it will compare to our cheese stand, but hopefully it'll be close.)  :)

In mid-September, my parents visited us for one week.  We had a great time touring around the Maritimes - New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia.  SOO fun!!  Guillaume was in his last week of work, so couldn't always be with us.  Glad he was able to join us in PEI!

Confederation Bridge connecting NB & PEI.  It takes about 12 minutes to cross!

After nearly 11 years in the Canadian Forces, Guillaume released in mid-September.  Although he's excited for the future, he'll also miss the military.  He had a great career and got to do some pretty cool things while in!
After living in Oromocto for almost four and a half years, we finally moved out of our PMQ.  We loved our little home...it was perfect for us during our time in NB!
At the end of September, we packed everything up (THANKS Stacy and Jess for your help!), loaded up our car that we couldn't sell in time, and headed to Quebec.  Guillaume drove the 26' U-Haul (which wasn't even half full, by the way!), and I followed in our Element.  It only took us 8.5 hours to get to Shawinigan.  Not bad considering we had to drive slow!
It was a pretty long drive!  Good thing for great CD mixes, sunflower seeds and Monster.  For those of you who know Guillaume well, you can about guess what he was listening to on the radio the whole way (hockey news!).  :)
Nous arrivons au Quebec!!!
Our 10'x10' storage unit which will store all of our worldly possessions for the next 11 months!   And to think we got rid of lots of stuff...it's crazy how quickly you can accumulate STUFF!!!  (Tami: I kept thinking of that book "Stuff" we read in ISP!)  :)

Other highlights of our time here in Quebec: visiting Guillaume's sister, Catherine, her boyfriend, Marc, and Marc's daughter near Montreal; visiting Quebec City and having supper with his uncle, aunt, and their two little ones; having coffee and supper dates with family; relaxing!

Next week, we'll depart from Guillaume's parents house in Shawinigan and travel to their chalet at Mont Tremblant where we'll stay for a few days.  Then, we'll head out for the next leg of our journey - visiting friends near Montreal, then on to upstate New York and New York City!  (SO excited for NYC...it'll be a first for both Guillaume and I!)

Stay tuned for more (regular) updates!  And, don't forget to say hello in the comment box!
