Since we just finished our road trip, we thought it'd be fun to share a few random pictures and bits of information that didn't quite make it into the other blog posts.
Here are some fast facts about our North American road trip:
- three months
- 8000+ miles
- 130+ hours driving
- four provinces
- 23 states
- two countries
- two oil changes
- one minor tire fix ($15)
- one hotel stay (just on the way back to Quebec)
- 10 nights sleeping in the Element
- two parking tickets (for the same thing) in NYC (ugh...so frustrating...we'd like to forget about this one)
 |
| In a Pennsylvania Welcome Centre parking lot - our first night sleeping in the Element. Who would've thought it'd be so much fun?! Looking forward to car camping when we return! |
 |
| Guillaume's favourite breakfast, lunch and supper...peanut butter sandwiches! He'd sometimes switch it up and add jelly. :) |
 |
| Getting ready to go through the US border in New York. I've officially been designated as the border crossing driver. |
 |
| Other than the two border crossings we had to go through, Guillaume was the official road trip driver. He drove 98% of the trip. |
 |
| Other than being named official border crossing driver, I was also the official road trip planner. As soon as we'd enter a new state, I'd read about it in my travel book and decide where to go. We enjoyed being spontaneous! :) |
 |
| Day 5 of not showering (luckily, we were able to shower the same night). Other than the one night at a welcome centre, the rest of our nights in the Element were spent in the parking lots of 24-hour Walmarts. It worked out quite well! |
 |
| The Element was so cozy...especially when we woke up one morning in Taos, New Mexico with an inch of snow on the car! It was much warmer inside than outside. |
 |
| Changing it up...enjoying a McDonald's breakfast in New Mexico. We went in for one cup of coffee and a plastic spoon, and came out with two full breakfasts. Oh well, I guess it's ok to splurge every once in a while! ;) |
Hard to believe our North American road trip is already done. The trip of a lifetime!
I feel like this was a post I would have commented on at the time. Maybe I did not due to it not letting me. Or maybe there was just so much to say, lol!
